My keto journey
I wanted to post exactly what I do as far as keto and my daily health habits.
1. My start weight 270lbs
Shirt xxl
Pants 38/32
Neck size 18 1/2
My low weight 175lbs
My current weight 190-200lbs
Shirt medium
Pants 32/32
Neck size 15 1/2
2. My plans I have followed
270lbs down to 175lbs
100-150 g fat
100-150 g protein
30 g or less carbs
175lbs up to 190lbs
100-150 g fat
100-150 G protein
50 g or less carbs
3. Things I have given up
-Mostly no alcohol I have a beer now and then
-No tobacco
-Mostly no caffeine except tea, I tend to drink a tea about 4-5 times a week. some of my favorites: chai, green, oolong, chamomile
4. Some practices I follow
-I meal plan to have the same meal for 2-3 days.
-I only drink water 99% of the time
-I eat mama lupes or mission low carb tortillas occasionally
-Erythritol and monk fruit is the only sugar alternative I use
-I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables I just stay in my carb range
-I eat peanut butter and apples as a snack sometimes when my carbs allow
-sometimes I fall of the wagon!
-sometimes I can’t get back up!
It’s a daily grind
5. Supplements I take and why
-Centrum 100 for the iron I found myself only consuming about 40-50% of my daily iron.
-Health Wise Omega 3 800mg with 600mg dha because I don’t eat much salmon or fatty fish. But I’m trying to grow a taste for it.
-Nature wise probiotic greens for my daily gut health
-Chia seeds for the omega 3 and fiber
-5HTP for serotonin
6. Daily habits I try follow each day
I set rewards for myself and I set goals on what % I get done every 2 weeks
-16,000 steps, I try to run 11,000 steps or a 10k
-8-10 16.9oz bottles of water
-Keto aware 90 workout
-Fast 22 hours mon-fri, I have been doing no fasting sat-sun. But I believe I’m going to revise to a 16 hour fast 2 days a week.
-50g net carbs
-7 hours of sleep
-Self positivity talk/motivational speeches
-15 minutes of Meditation
My goals this year are
To show love to those around me. I have times where I get very wrapped up in my work and don’t pay attention to stuff around me.
Be the healthiest me. I have slipped sometimes and I will have a crazy day. Ice cream is a weakness for me. But I set a few fitness goals.
Run a 5k in 27 minutes. Pre Covid I was on pace running 2 miles a day in 17 minutes. But I just started back yesterday and I am at 2 miles in 20 minutes yikes! But it won’t take me long to get back there.
Last I’m always trying to become the happiest, healthiest me!
